What the cap table upload does

Upload your cap table as an Excel, CSV or PDF file, and Founderpath records each shareholder's name and ownership, so the people reviewing your funding can see who owns the company. Founderpath financing takes no equity, so nothing in the upload changes your cap table.

What to upload

The template on the upload screen in your Founderpath account has one row per shareholder:

  • Name and ownership percentage for every holder. These are required.
  • Share count and email where you have them. These are optional.

A spreadsheet exported from your cap table software or your own records works. In your account, the cap table upload sits under All Integrations and in the Data Room.

What happens after you upload

  1. Founderpath reads the file and records each shareholder with their ownership.
  2. The list appears in your account and is available to the Founderpath team reviewing your company.
  3. You can ask Founderpath's AI assistant questions about the ownership it shows.

An upload is a snapshot. Upload a new file after a financing round, a secondary sale or new option grants.

What the upload does not do

The upload records ownership as you provide it. The upload itself does not model future rounds or produce pro forma scenarios, though you can ask Founderpath's AI assistant to analyze ownership concentration, the option pool or dilution from the recorded figures. For a quick estimate of how a priced round changes ownership, use the free dilution calculator.
