Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)

AEO is how you get your company to show up in the LLM's like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexcity, and Gemini.

Companies doing this well:

Chatbase, 5% of sign ups coming from chat gpt. Source

Tally.so, 1000 signups from chat gpt in 1 week. Source

Tactics:

Create landing pages with Semantic Clusters instead of Keyword Stuffing.
Semantic Clusters: 'top CRM tools for large contact volumes with native X integration'
Old school Keyword SEO: 'best CRM tools'

Use question-based language
Think “What’s the best chatbot builder for websites?” or “Tools to train a chatbot on my docs”, models respond well to phrasing that mimics how people talk.

List your features and differentiators plainly
Models often summarize. If your feature is buried in a paragraph, it’ll get lost. Make bullet points your friend.

Dont bury the lead (they all have crawl budgets and may not crawl your whole page. Put the good stuff first.

Test your queries
Try asking ChatGPT (and other LLMs) questions your users might. If your product doesn’t show up, ask yourself why and fix the gaps.
